The P1 will be making McLaren a lot of money this year, and by a lot, we mean that the company is expecting its profits before tax to be four times greater than what they recorded in 2013.

Paul Buddin, the firm’s finance director explained to Bloomberg News that, “It’s the main year in which we deliver McLaren P1s. You can expect quite a strong impact on our turnover and profits.”

However, it’s not just the already sold out P1 that will be boosting their earnings, but also the P1-faced 650S, with its two body styles, and the fact that they managed to open four dealerships in China in 2013; they plan to add eight more by the end of 2014.

Actual revenue won’t be as high as the profit, obviously, because McLaren spends around one hundred million dollars per year on research and development, plus all the expanding that they’re doing around the world.

What they will actually be making, in the end, is about twice as much as they managed last year (meaning 100 percent growth) and that’s still a pretty impressive stat.
