The second iteration of Mini’s Clubman has swapped its conceptual clothing and big wheels from the Geneva Motor Show for a yellow outfit that leaves the details to the imagination of the viewer.
Don’t fret though, as not much will change over the original study, just the show bits Mini used like the bumper and grille trimmings on the outside, and color and material combinations on the inside.
The reinvented Clubman sways towards the compact estate segment abandoning its predecessor’s oddball format with two regular doors and a single rear-hinged door for a conventional four-passenger door layout that bonds well with the added doses of practicality that Mini promises. What it does keep from the first generation Clubman are the “barn” style split tailgate doors.
Dimensions should be similar, if not identical, to the concept that measured 260mm longer that the Clubman Mk1 at 4223mm, 170mm wider at 1,844 mm and 25mm taller at 1,450 mm.
Under the hood, the production model will share its gasoline and diesel powertrain lineup with the new hatch.
