After announcing the Mercedes-Benz-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline unit at China’s Guangzhou Motor Show in November, Infiniti showed up in Geneva today with an actual Q50 fitted with the force-fed powertrain that delivers 214PS (211hp) and 320Nm (236 lb-ft) of peak torque.
The four-cylinder unit sends drive to the rear wheels through a 7-speed automatic transmission. Infiniti has yet to provide any acceleration or fuel economy figures.
The Q50 2.0-liter Turbo will first go on sale in China this spring, with the European market to follow in autumn this year.
We assume you’re next question will have to do with availability in the States, to which the Japanese premium carmaker simply stated that, “other global markets will follow”, but did not elaborate further, so we don’t know yet if and when the turbocharged engine will be offered in North America.
