Despite offering the decently capable Octavia Scout, an all-wheel drive version of their Octavia estate with jacked up springs and plastic side armor, Skoda decided to take a step back with the philosophy behind the Superb Outdoor models trim levels.

These feature nothing more than the plastic add-ons on their own, without the extra ground clearance and that means the only thing it has over a regular Superb estate/wagon is… extra weight. At least they don’t offer the Outdoor front-wheel drive trim. Still, if you want to do some light off-roading in your Skoda estate, make sure it’s the more suited Octavia Scout.

In the UK, the Superb Outdoor starts at £26,995 for a TDI 140 model with a manual gearbox and rises to £29,235 for a TDI 170 with VW’s DSG automatic gearbox.

For those looking for a little bit of extra luxury added to this whole package, then the £1,000 more expensive Outdoor Plus trim adds full leather upholstery and sat-nav with integrated digital radio.
