In spite of the fact that the all-new Subaru WRX’s six-speed gearbox will have you shifting into third before passing sixty, and therefore increase the time to over five seconds, it’s still a car that can be recommended, with a host of other qualities.
Jonny Lieberman got his hands on one and discovered most of these are dynamic, when he drove it around the skidpad and twisty Californian roads. He noted that it’s definitely not the most engaging car to drive fast, but that makes it no less capable at going fast.
Praise was also directed at the new 2.0-liter boxer engine and manual gearbox, even though,, as previously mentioned, detracts from on-paper performance.
Overall it’s deemed a great choice of a relatively affordable sedan canyon carver, and one that can be made even more extreme for you if there’s the need for extra performance, a noticeable body kit with massive wing and gold wheels; the importance of a wagon is also noted in the MotorTrend video, which you can check out below.
