What you see here in the photograph that surfaced on Ferrari Chat today is reportedly a new special-order creation from Maranello named the SP FFX. Like the one-off 458-based SP12 EC for guitarist Eric Clapton, it too was designed and produced under Ferrari’s secretive ‘One-Off Programme’.
From the looks of it, the SP FFX appears to be the mystery Ferrari previewed last October through a set of official patent drawings. At the time, we believed it could be based on the California, but if the name holds true, then it should be built around the FF.
The forum member who posted the photo, nicknamed ‘getnoir’, said: “The SP FFX, thought to be a next gen cali, is actually the one produced through the Special Product program based on a FF. The one ordered by Japanese and this seems to be a track day special FF.”
That’s all we have for now, but we’ll update you as soon as we find out more.
