While it is true that you never know what might happen down the road, honestly, one of the last things you expect during driving is a…helicopter (a real one, not a RC toy) coming down from the sky and crashing on your vehicle.

This video, which was brought to our attention by one of our readers, was filmed back in 2008 (it’s the first time we’ve seen it, which is why we’re sharing it with you) in Kroonstad, the third-largest town in the Free State province of South Africa.

As you will probably figure out for yourself by watching the footage, no one was killed, with the South African Civil Aviation Authority stating in the incident report that, “the pilot and two of the passengers were not injured; the passenger that was seated in the left front seat sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital”.

And what was the official reason for the crash, you may ask? Well, you’re going to really like this one as the same report mentions:

“The pilot was caught off guard when he inadvertently selected the hydraulic switch to the off position instead of selecting the speaker to the on position and was therefore unable to control the aircraft prior to impact.”
