Here are two somewhat related design proposals, in the sense that they’re both three-door versions of existing, rear-wheel drive coupes.
Beginning alphabetically with the BMW, design X-Tomi envisioned a remake of the 3-Series Compact model based on the latest 4-Series Coupe.
The Compact was the spiritual successor to BMW’s 02 series Touring models of the 1970s, as the brand’s representative in the compact hatchback segment built on the E36 and E46 chassis from 1993 to 2004, when the arrival of the 1-Series made its existence obsolete. The same can be said about a 4-Series Compact, but it’s an interesting render nonetheless.
On the other hand, the Photoshop job of a Toyota GT 86 with a Shooting Brake style body, and consequently, similar versions of the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, could actually have a future, as a concept of the same kind, but with a crossover flavored height and trim, was displayed at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show by Subaru.
