Welcome to another episode of Carscoops’ U Spy edition with a mystery twist, as we’re not entirely sure what it is that we’re looking at here. We have a hunch, which we will share with you below, but don’t be shy to tell us what model you believe is hiding under the heavy camouflage.
The prototype was recently nabbed in Los Angeles, California, by Carscoops reader Stephen D., who told us the following: “I spotted this going down Ventura Blvd. When the driver saw me taking photos at the stop light, he hit gas and took off. Sorry I could not get better shots.”
No problem Stephen, as it makes it all the more interesting to solve this mystery.
Obviously it’s an SUV and from what we can tell, it looks like a mid-size model. Now if you’re asking us, judging from some styling elements like the exterior mirrors and alloy wheels, and the overall shape of the vehicle, our first guess would be the next Ford Edge, previewed by this concept at last year’s LA Auto Show. Thoughts?
