It’s not official yet, so we don’t have the details, but all the rumors about GM dropping the wreath from Cadillac’s emblem appear to be true, as the brand is showcasing a redesigned version of the logo without the laurel wreath at its Detroit motor show stand where it will soon unveil the new ATS Coupe.

You probably noticed that the 2015 Cadillac Escalade is still wearing the current wreath and crest logo on its chin, so it is likely that GM will roll out the new emblem gradually, starting with the ATS Coupe, as we recently reported.

This won’t be the first time that Cadillac has heavily revised its emblem, as this has happened more than three dozen times in the brand’s history.

The unofficial reason for the change now is that, many consumers found the wreath to be outdated and not representative of Cadillac’s more stylish and techier approach in the luxury segment.

Thanks to Nicholas for the heads up!
