You may or may not remember Edward Gray of Gray Design, from his conceptual drawings of a future generation Saab 9-3. Gray has returned to the spotlight with a new concept named the Nouvair inspired by the Art Nouveau design movement, which was created to coincide with the company’s debut as official judges at Sweden’s Westcoast Motorshow.

“The Nouvair is a design study that is infused with the spirit of this graceful design language, and draws inspiration from the flawless flowing curves that Alphonse Mucha [a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist from the 19th and 20th century] made famous,” says Grey Design.

Design, or for that matter, any creative project, is a very subjective matter – and rightly so, but for what it’s worth, I find the Nouvair far too busy, with overly complicated lines, creases and curves on the body and a front end that looks almost out of place with the rest of the car.
