Former Caterham boss Ansar Ali has “secured funding to start development on an all-new sports car,” according to an Autocar magazine report. It’s planned as a rival to the KTM X-Bow, or the hottest Caterham currently being made, the 620R, and it promises to embarrass much more expensive motors at any track day.
The brand that plans to make this car is called Zenos, and the model currently goes by the name “Project E10,” though that may change when (and if) it reaches its production stage.
While some might rightfully be a bit skeptical when it comes to this type of sports car made by an unknown manufacturer that just started out, we genuinely hope that this aluminum-tube framed and carbon fiber E10 makes it through (in all three body types shown below).
The source says the model will weigh about 650 kg or 1,433 lbs, and with 197 hp from a Ford-sourced two-liter engine, its power to weight ratio will be close to 300 hp/ton – the benchmark sprint should take well under four seconds with these specs and good tires.
