The mildly refreshed 2014 Jeep Compass has reached UK shores and is now available for order. Leaving aside the minor styling tweaks on the exterior and interior trim, the most important changes are the new six-speed automatic transmission for the 2.4-liter petrol engine, and the addition of a new North grade that joins the existing Sport and Limited trim levels.
Prices start from £17,465 for the Sport, £19,995 for the North and from £22,715 for the top-end Limited. Engine options include a 161bhp and 320Nm 2.2-liter turbo diesel, and a pair of petrol units, a 2.0-liter pushing out 154 bhp and 190Nm of torque, and a 2.4-litre with 168 bhp and torque of 220Nm.
Depending on the trim, buyers can opt for front-wheel drive or for Jeep’s Freedom Drive I full-time active 4×4 system with lock mode
The new North trim level builds upon the Sport grade adding to it standard equipment the following features: supplemental front seat side airbags, new body-colour exterior mirrors, deep-tint sunscreen glass, rear view auto dim mirror, cloth and vinyl seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, UConnect Bluetooth, USB port, and 6CD/DVD/MP3.
