Benz’s most popular model series, the C-Class, is getting ready to turn another page in its history book with the presentation of the W205 codenamed model that was caught here at the brand’s parking lot with its blouse pulled down

The silver prototype offers us an even better look than before at the new 2015 C-Class’ swoopy profile lines that are reminiscent of both the more serious and bigger S-Class and the smaller and funkier CLA.

If you scroll down, you will see that our spies also spotted a blue tester of the next C-Class as it was entering Mercedes’ facility. These images give us a rough idea of the design of the front and rear ends of Stuttgart’s new compact executive sedan.

A critical element of Mercedes’ plan to regain the sales top of the premium ladder, the new C-Class will be thoroughly re-engineered under the skin offering a bigger footprint for improved space, yet it will be notably lighter than the current model.

It will ride on Mercedes’ new MRA (modular rear-wheel drive architecture) platform with engine options to include both traditional turbocharged diesel and petrol units, and hybrid and plug-in petrol-electric hybrid versions. Once again, certain powertrains will be available with all-wheel drive.

After the sedan model breaks cover in the first half of next year, Mercedes will gradually introduce an estate, a coupe and a fabric-top convertible version.
