If you thought passion within the automotive industry was only confined to the minute manufacturers that still make their vehicles by hand, you were wrong.

Such positive feelings also seem to be present in the large-scale industrial side of the business too, where workers put their signature on hundreds of cars every day, like in the case of the three GM workers who love the cars that they make so much that they decided to write songs about them.

The group behind it, GMS3 (which stands for “Great Music Standards”), is a trio of assembly plant workers from GM’s Fairfax and Arlington Assembly plants, who not only come from a car-building background, but also take great pride in the vehciles that they help roll off the production line.

One of the group’s members, Dwayne Hawkins says they “make cars by day and music at night,” and this leads to “a beautiful thing.” Besides, it really is an American tradition to sing about cars, so it’s nice to have it back…

Their goal is to somehow end up in one of the American giant’s official ads, with songs like “I Like Your Style,” which is unofficially dedicated to the all-new Impala. However, even if they fail to reach that goal, they’ll at least be “like GM celebrities” as the autograph-signing session from the first video posted below shows (the second one is an actual song).
