Studio shots make cars look a certain way and you only get to appreciate a vehicle the first time you actually see it in the metal. Still, with the BMW X4 we have a while to wait for that moment, despite being confirmed for production with minor changes from the concept.

Until then, the study will be paraded around the world, at various automotive venues, before finally coming to rest at the BMW Museum, where it will be kept on display. Now, we bring you the first video of the X4 that shows it in the metal, on a slowly-turning platform.

While I’m not a huge fan of having a tall and heavy vehicle which looks like an off-roader but only really does on-road, I will concede that the X4, finished in the Long Beach Blue color, is one of the brand’s better design efforts in the sector. It’s certainly far more visually-appealing than the new X5, to me at least.

It can’t be dubbed pretty, but at least it doesn’t burn your retinas when looking at it. But don’t take my word for it, scroll down, click play and make up your own mind.
