We love us some unique shades on special cars – painted, foil wrapped or even photoshopped, just as long as we are aware of what it is that are we are looking at.

This picture of a Ferrari 458 Italia coupe seemingly dressed in a tinted, chromed-eggplant-like shade was reportedly shot by a member of the Autogespot forums named “Königsallee Chilla” in Dusseldorf, Germany, and was shared by the site’s moderators on their Facebook page with the title “Wow! This will get you dizzy!”.

It didn’t take long for some viewers to question the legitimacy of the photos. For example, Alejandro S. wrote: “FAKE!! look the photo 1 and 2, with red parts and photo 7 with the frontal vent with the same color…”

To that, we will add that in picture number 3, the Ferrari’s reflection on the VW Transporter shows a red car, while in photo number 5, we see that the Volkswagen’s left tail lamp has the same tint as the 458 when in the previous pictures it did not.

Still, we wouldn’t mind seeing a real Ferrari with in this particular color.
