An accident is never a pleasurable experience, but at least this particular driver did not crash his own car.

The unnamed motorists who was captured on camera at the Nürburgring racetrack by a YouTube user “Automobilchannel” was behind the wheel of a Toyota GT 86 (marketed as the Scion FR-S in North America) rent-a-racer when he came into a turn a little too fast and continued straight into the grass before face-lifting the Japanese coupe on the metal railings.

We don’t know for sure where he rented the car from, but judging from the decals, it could be from “Rent-Racecar“, which charges €399 (US$520) for half-a-day and 6 laps, €599 (US$780) for a full day and 12 laps around the ‘Ring, and also has four “All-inclusive RingPack” offerings ranging in prices from €139 (US$180) for 1 lap to €949 (US$1,235) for a full day of use of the GT 86.

There’s also a disclaimer about accidents, which we assume the driver of the crashed GT 86 read carefully before climbing into the coupe’s cockpit:

“In case of an accident, the driver is liable for an insurance excess up to 6.000 EUR. Minimum age of driver is 25 years. More information is found in our general business agreement. We expect that you handle the car responsibly.”

Shout out to Peter M. for the tip!
