While Skoda hasn’t been extremely talkative about the future of the newly launched Rapid series that came to life with the notchback sedan model last summer, it has confirmed plans for a hatchback version. Another model believed to be under development is a longer and more spacious estate variant, rumored to carry the “Spaceback” moniker.
Carscoops regulars will remember the prototype compact station wagon model caught on camera by the folks over from the Nacho Fernández Lopez blog last month, though, to be honest, we still aren’t sure if it’s a test car for the estate version of the next Fabia or the Rapid SW.
There’s no confusion with these photoshoped images from Czech website “Autoweb” that had Ondřej Lilling design a set of speculative renderings of the Rapid Spaceback using the notchback model as the base, and which you can check out in more detail below.
