Following the reveal of the Chevy Silverado High Country, GMC has released the first photos of the 2014 Sierra 1500 Denali full-size pickup that will launch this fall in the United States. The third generation of the Sierra Denali will be available with a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine that produces approximately 420 horsepower and 450 lb-ft (609 Nm) of torque, figures that will make it the most powerful light duty truck on the market.
Final SAE-rated power and torque numbers will be released later this year, with the same engine to be available for Sierra SLT models this fall. With the 6.2-liter V8, the Sierra is expected to have a maximum trailering capacity of 12,000 pounds (5,443 kg).
The 2014 Sierra Denali builds on the design formula that made Denali models popular. On the outside, the truck comes with a signature Denali chrome grille, unique 20-inch chrome wheels, a polished stainless steel exhaust outlet, body-color front and rear bumpers and projector-style headlamps with LED daytime running lights.
The interior comes with real aluminum trim and Denali badges on the door sills and front seats. There’s also an exclusive 8-inch Customizable Driver Display that can show relevant settings, audio and navigation information in the instrument panel.
Standard equipment includes the 8-inch Color Touch navigation radio with Intellilink, located above the center console, which also serves as the main hub for Bluetooth-connected phones and portable devices connected through five standard USB ports. Other standard features are the Bose audio system, heated and cooled leather front bucket seats, a heated steering wheel, front and rear park assist and a power sliding rear window with defogger.
The 2014 GMC Sierra Denali is offered as standard with the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 delivering 355 horsepower and 23 mpg (10.2 l/100km) on the highway (for 2WD models). The Denali will be available with two option packages, including a Z71 Off-Road Package (4WD only) with monotube Rancho shocks, Hill Descent Control and transfer case shield, and a Driver Alert Package that includes Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and Safety Alert Seat Technology.
Individual options include the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8, a sunroof and Rear Seat Entertainment.
