Following yesterday’s teaser video of the concept car Aston Martin will reveal on May 19 at the Nürburgring, the first photos of the car surfaced on the Internet. Taken by a Spanish journalist from Motorpasion, the photos show only the rear end of the DBR1-inspired concept – enough to make us want to see more.
The scoop shots reveal a sculpted body, with the two seats being completely separated by the body in the middle and the anti-roll protections behind the head rests similar to those on the Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss. Another similarity with the Benz is that it has no windshield.
The muscular rear end is dominated by two round taillights integrated into a glossy background. There are only two round exhaust pipes and a massive air diffuser. Also, judging from the way the license plate is attached to the body, the car doesn’t look to be street legal.
The photographer said the car sounded great, but couldn’t tell whether it had a V8 or V12 engine. According to media speculation, the concept may based on the V12 Vantage, so the engine could only be a V12. The study is tipped to be called CC100 Speedster as it marks Aston Martin’s centenary.
