The Tesla Model S is by no means common enough for it to warrant heaps of exterior modifications in order to stand out (yet). People continue turn their heads as these silent cars pass by, and you’ll still see the occasional phone camera aimed at it, with excited comments audible in the background. This exclusivity hasn’t stopped drivers from wanting to make their cars even more special.

Take this stunning dark blue example, which with the help of subtle exterior modifications, now looks even better. Its owner apparently doesn’t like chrome at all, and had a team strip all the pieces of shiny trim off the car, and wrap them in 3M stain black film.

Furthermore, the Model S features textured plastic side skirts and trim pieces on the lower part of the front and rear bumpers. Now, these pieces bare the same finish as the rest of the body, along with the faux glossy black grille, which is now also finished in the same shade of blue.

I find the result quite successful, and it does achieve its goal of making the car unique, without robbing it of any of its original character. Tesla should offer this as a package, because there are definitely lots of people out there, some of whom are potential Model S buyers, who don’t really like the look of chrome on modern cars (myself included), preferring a matte finish instead.
