Usually, it’s easy to tell from a surveillance or regular camera footage when police officers are joking around, doing their job right, or when they’re at fault. Naturally, there are instances where the line is blurred – like the case of this cop chasing a motorcyclist in Prague, which brings us to this video shot in Mildura, Australia.

An Australian cop pulled over the driver of a small people-carrier for what we assume to be a routine traffic stop. Once he approaches the van, the driver, who goes under the YouTube nickname “jnicolaci”, asks the officer if he’s “stoned” and says “look at your eyes”, all while filming the incident.

The cop returns and then politely asks the driver to stop littering by “flicking his ash from the cigarette” outside the window, before asking him to take a breath test, which he passes, and then lets him go his way.

Here’s how “jnicolaci” described the scene on his YouTube account, which for the record, contains several other strange videos about hostel workers, and mistreatment from police officers:

“this a member of the mildura police station. seemingly intoxicated, and trying to intimidate with his careless behavior, and absolute disrespect for a member of the public, for which he is supposed to be a servant. his blatant disregard for correct prosedure and code of conduct grossly dishonours the police force and what they are suppose to stand for. A prime example of being un-australian, in my opinion.”

If you want our opinion and while there’s always the possibility we could be wrong, the police officer looks fine in our eyes and we think he conducted the stop in a polite manner and with a smile on his face (unlike these Dallas Sheriff’s officers).

What do you think?
