Hyundai has released a new trio of videos of its updated Centennial, which is just another name for the Equus luxury sedan that will make its U.S. debut in facelifted form at this month’s New York Auto Show.

We’ll have to wait for specific details for the North American model, but we suspect it will benefit from the same design and technological upgrades as the already available Korean version – also named Equus (the Centennial moniker is used in the Middle East).

In the styling department, the Korean luxury rear-wheel drive sedan gets a redesigned front grille and less chrome, while inside; there are new trim pieces, different buttons and switches, as well as a new shifter that is reminiscent of that found on BMWs.

Inspired by other big luxury cars, Hyundai has also rid the Equus of its analog gauge cluster, replacing it with an LCD unit. Many posh cars now feature similar setups, and since the Equus is more of an image-booster for the brand, they are keen to feature all of the latest and most eye-catching pieces of tech on their cars.

Other new features include a reworked adaptive cruise control, a HUD (head-up display), all-round view cameras, selectable driving modes, as well as Blind Spot Detection – a must nowadays.
