While most regular drivers try to avoid the snow (the Bostonian owner of this Alfa 8C Competizione is an exception), automotive engineers actively seek areas covered in nature’s icy dandruff, and for good reason, as new vehicles must be tried and tested under all weather conditions to ensure their safety and reliability.
Spotted testing in the snow alongside the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze is another future GM model, one that will come to the light far earlier; the mildly refreshed 2014 Opel (Vauxhall in Britain) Insignia Sports Tourer.
Just like the sedan prototype we captured last month, the Insignia Sports Tourer tester is wearing its new face up front with revised headlamp fixtures, a sharper front grille and a re-sculptured bumper, while it appears that the rear end will also receive some designer love with updated tail lamp fixtures.
More important changes are to be found under the hood as Opel is expected to enhance the Insignia’s lineup with a greener and more fuel-efficient range of 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel engines that were announced today for the Zafira Tourer, and the also new 1.6-liter SIDI Turbo ECOTEC petrol engine that is offered on the Cascada convertible.
