Among the many world premieres that will be awaiting Detroit auto show attendees next week is a new model from Jeep, which has released a couple of teaser images to put us in the mood.

Now, while the Chrysler Group brand won’t tell us what it is yet, we’ve heard that the model seen here is the facelifted 2014 Grand Cherokee.

We used a little bit of Photoshop trickery to brighten up the dark teaser to reveal a new front end for Jeep’s flagship model with headlamps that look similar in styling to those used on the latest Chrysler 300 and a less flamboyant interpretation of the brand’s seven-slot grille.

Besides the new fascia, the 2014 Grand Cherokee will likely gain some styling changes to the rear end, mainly the tail lamps, and quite possibly, some upgrades to the interior.

Under the skin, Jeep has already confirmed the addition of a new diesel engine option that will be based on the 3.0-liter V6 unit already offered in Europe, while it is also expected to announce the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic transmission.
