With just a little over a week left until the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks off, Bentley has joined the extensive list of automakers that will take part in the annual gathering.
The British automaker’s prime presentation will be the Bentayga that broke the record in its class at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb at the end of June. The luxury SUV completed the 20km (12.42-mile) long course in 10:49.9 attacking its 156 corners as fast as possible with Rhys Millen sitting in the driver’s seat.
The impressive run has made the near-production-spec Bentley Bentayga almost two minutes faster than the previous record-holder in the SUV segment, claims Bentley.

In addition to the 600 horsepower W12 SUV, Bentley has yet another surprise in store for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The brand will celebrate the local debut of the new Continental GT on the legendary hill climb, thus allowing fans to witness the Grand Tourer that takes only 3.6sec to reach 60mph (96km/h) and maxes out at 207mph (333km/h) first hand.
Bentley will also have the new Continental GT3 on Lord March’s domain, and it won’t be for show and tell purposes only, as it will be piloted at Goodwood by racing driver Guy Smith.
The 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place between July 12 and 15, and as usual, CarScoops will bring you the latest news, so make sure to check out our dedicated hub here.
