We already knew from the spy shots that Renault’s production version of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show Captur study wouldn’t be anywhere near as exciting as the concept, but if you need further proof, here’s a set of patent drawings that were listed on a French forum.

The as-of-yet unnamed crossover model looks like a longer, taller, and beefier version of the fourth generation Clio, which might not be a bad thing, but it definitely leaves a lot to be desired when you compare it with the original concept.

The French firm’s new model is based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s modular B platform, which underpins several cars including the Renault Clio Mk4 and the Nissan Juke.

There’s a good chance that the latter may also provide the Renault model with its all-wheel drive system, though, we still do not know if the French crossover will be offered with both FWD and AWD configurations.

Since the small Renault crossover is in its final stages of development, we could it see it making its world premiere as early as the Geneva Motor Show in March next year.
