2012 Maserati GranTurismo MC Is The Italian Exotic You Might Afford

If you’re hoping to buy a low-mileage Italian supercar birthed after 2012, you will likely need to spend $100,000 or more on whatever Ferrari or Lamborghini you can find.

There is, however, one very interesting alternative and it wears a Maserati badge. We’re of course talking about the GranTurismo, a V8-powered luxury coupe that’s as beautiful as it is loud, able to turn heads pretty much everywhere it goes even though it’s been around for over a decade now.

Here, we have a 2012 example, wearing an MC Sport Line badge, which means that it’s basically a more aggressive GranTurismo S. Changes include the wider front bumpers, hood vents, carbon fiber mirror covers, carbon fiber trunk lid spoiler, door handles and 20-inch wheels. Inside, you also get carbon fiber on the steering wheel rim, paddle shifters, instrument panel, dashboard and door panels, plus black leather seats with red contrast stitching.

The car also sits 10 mm (0.4 inches) lower than the regular GranTurismo S, while boasting stiffer springs and shocks and larger anti-roll bars.

Power comes via a naturally-aspirated 4.7-liter V8, which, according to the Bring a Trailer ad, has done 10,550 miles (16,978 miles) and puts down 444 horsepower and 376 lb-ft (510 Nm) of torque with the help of a 6-speed automatic with 50% faster shift times than the regular GT S.

Unlike something with a Ferrari or a Lamborghini badge, this 6-year old, low-mileage luxury GT should prove considerably less expensive to purchase than any of its compatriots. At the time of writing, and with three days left ’till the end of the auction, the highest bid was $36,000.

Not exactly cheap, but a bargain nonetheless considering a. its mileage, b. its supermodel looks, and c. the fact that it’s less than a third of the price of other Italian exotics. Just make sure you can afford servicing, too, because it doesn’t come cheap…
