Jaguar’s last effort to expand its automobile range with a more affordable model, the 2001-2009 X-Type sedan, didn’t quite work for a number of reasons, but the truth is, if the British brand wants to remain alive and competitive, it will eventually have to give it another try, something that the company’s bosses haven’t denied.

Whether Jaguar will attempt to build another compact executive sedan or if it will choose a different category, remains to be seen.

Sukhveer Sihra, a transportation designer from London, United Kingdom, is proposing a sporty looking C-segment model named the C-X3 that targets premium cars such as the Audi A3, BMW 1-Series and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

“This project is a study of Jaguar’s possibility of evolving its design language towards a C-segment vehicle, but sticking to the core brand values of luxury and sports performance with an exclusive feel,” says Sihra.
