Spy shooters have recorded a prototype of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series running a few hot laps around the Nürburgring, and unlike last time, when the car caught on fire and burned to the ground, this one was able to complete the test…unscathed.
The SLS AMG Black Series Edition will be the ultimate street-legal version of the regular SLS AMG GT with many performance enhancements including a tweaked 6.2-liter V8 engine producing as much as 650-ponies, and a look to match its newly found power.
A modified version of the SLS AMG GT’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will direct power to the rear axle, while the German firm’s engineers will tune the chassis and give the car bigger brakes and a stiffer suspension setup.
It shouldn’t be too long before the SLS AMG Black Series Edition breaks cover at a major international motor show.
