A couple of weeks ago, we brought you news that Korea’s SsangYong plans to introduce a new concept model in Paris and now, we have the first real-life photos of the e-XIV range-extender hybrid electric crossover.
The e-XIV is the third iteration of SsangYong’s XIV series of B-segment CUV concepts (think Nissan Juke in size) after the three-door XIV-2 study shown at the Geneva Auto Salon in March, and the five-door XIV-1 prototype from the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.
The concept’s name stands for Electric-eXciting user-Interface Vehicle with the Korean company stating that it is equipped with a range-extender hybrid powertrain that uses an electric motor to drive the car and a small petrol engine to charge its batteries once they run out of juice.
The e-XIV is 4,160mm long, 1,790mm wide and 1,575mm tall, and rides on a 2,600mm wheelbase.
While SsangYong has hinted at a production version of the XIV series, it has yet to announce final plans.
