Yesterday, MINI unveiled the production version of the Paceman, which is the three-door version of the Countryman crossover, precisely two weeks before it makes its public debut at the Paris Auto Show.
Some of you complained about the absence of any photos of the Paceman’s dashboard in our gallery – don’t blame us, blame the BMW Group. If you are still interested, we can now show it to you through a video that details the design of the latest MINI model inside and out.
And while you are at it, there’s also a second clip of the Paceman in action.
The upsized MINI features an identical front to the Countryman, but the Paceman is 24mm (1.0-in.) shorter and sports a more rakish roofline, longer front doors and a completely redesigned rear end.
MINI claims that the lowered chassis and retuned suspension offer the Paceman sportier handling characteristics than the Countryman.
As you would expect, the new MINI shares its engine line-up with the Countryman. At least in Europe (there’s no info yet about North America), there are two 1.6-liter petrol versions, the 119HP Cooper and the 181HP turbocharged Cooper S, while those who prefer a diesel can buy either the 110HP1.6-liter Cooper D or the 141HP 2.0-liter Cooper SD.
They can also choose between two six-speed transmissions, a manual and an auto and front- or all-wheel drive, the latter being standard on the Cooper S.
You can watch the two videos of the MINI Paceman right after the jump.
