It’s no secret that the European market Renault Fluence and the Asian market Samsung SM3 sedans are one and the same, which leads us to believe that the changes seen on the updated version of the Korean saloon will likely be applied to the French model.

The 2013 Renault Samsung SM3 was introduced in South Korea this week and among other tweaks, it gets a newly designed front bumper and grille assembly along with restyled headlamp fixtures, a new assortment of alloy wheel designs and some minor updates inside such as the new instrument panel with digital displays.

The South Korean arm of the Renault Group has not yet released full details on the SM3, so we don’t know whether the four-door model benefits from any mechanical updates.

The SM3’s European twin, prototypes of which we have spied a couple of times this summer, will likely sport the same new front end, albeit with Renault’s own grille design.

Look for the refreshed Renault Fluence at next month’s Paris Motor Show.
