Everyone’s favorite little roadster, the Mazda MX-5, is now available with an all new race-spec model as a customer car for the base price of GBP 125,000 (€157,800 or US$198,300).

The MX-5 GT4 is the track only version of the standard MX-5. Developed in partnership with Jota Sport, the special edition pays homage to the overall success of the GT4 racer in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship.

With a 320bhp MZR 2.0L turbo mounted to a six-speed sequential gearbox and only 1,000 kg (2,200 lbs) to account for, Mazda says it proves more than a handful for the likes of Louts, Aston Martin and Ginetta in the GT4 Series.

Ranging from the doors, to the rear splitter, rear diffuser and rear wing, carbon fiber coats nearly every inch of this race bred MX-5. It also comes with a race-spec roll cage.

Managing director of Jota Group Sam Hignett commented on the quality of performance available in the GT4, especially in the hands of enthusiasts.

“The car is an easy car to race and would even suit track day enthusiasts. We are still developing the car, but we are now at the point where we can offer this car to customers safe in the knowledge that it is going to be a front runner in any GT4 field”

The price for all this Miata complete with additional options ranging from an upgraded IPU to new 4-way adjustable dampers will have you reaching deep into your pockets with a final price tag of £157,000 (€198,200 or US$249,000).
