Land Rover hasn’t exactly managed to keep the new 2013 Range Rover under wraps with spies even getting a few shots of the luxury SUV at its UK plant, but today, a pair of allegedly official photos have been making the internet rounds.
The two pictures made their way on various forums and sites including Ovalnews and Jalopnik, with one of the images appearing to be sourced from Auto Express, which has since removed the photo from the web post (though you can still see it here).
While we cannot vouch for the authenticity of the images just yet, what we see here seems to match the 2013 Range Rover prototype models spied over the past year or so.
The more modern looking replacement for Land Rover’s top offering will use contemporary materials both for its body and underpinnings with an aluminum-intensive architecture helping it shed as much as 1,000 pounds (450kg) over the current model.
The new Range Rover will be offered with V6 and V8 diesels along with a V8 supercharged petrol and most likely, Jaguar-Land Rover’s new supercharged V6. The company also plans to introduce a hybrid variant within the next couple of years.
Thanks for the tip Lloyd!
