On Thursday, we told you that Mazda celebrated the start of production of the all-new mid-size ‘6’ at its Hofu Plant No. 2 in Japan with a special ceremony that was attended by some 500 people including the brand’s CEO, Takashi Yamanouchi, executives, employees and a representative of the Mazda Workers Union.
It wouldn’t have been much of a deal if the automaker had offered us more pictures of the sedan and more importantly, if Mazda hadn’t rolled out the new Station Wagon variant which we saw for the very first time.
In addition to the single image released on Thursday, Mazda has now shared a video of the event showing the Station Wagon model covered in leftover decorations from last Christmas as it enters the stage under the sounds of an unknown tune that brings back memory from the 1980s.
Mazda told us that this example of the Mazda6 Wagon was built to European specifications and powered by the firm’s new SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine.
Thanks to i-ryuji for the tip!
