Evidently, Aston Martin has not quite yet finished tweaking the new Vanquish Coupe, even though the company has officially presented the car.

A camouflage-free, pre-production model together with a lightly disguised prototype of the Vanquish were filmed racing around the Nürburgring Nordschleife this week.

The new iteration of the Vanquish replaces the DBS in Aston Martin’s lineup and features a 5.9-litre V12 engine that’s good for 565hp (573PS) and 620Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque allowing for a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 4.1 seconds and a 295km/h (183mph) top speed.

It will go on sale in Europe at the end of the year and the rest of the world, including North America, in early 2013, which could explain why Aston Martin’s engineers are still testing the car.

On the other hand, the new V12 Vantage Roadster, which was also spotted on the ‘Ring, is already available for order. The flagship open-top model of the series is motivated by a 5.9-litre V12 engine that generates 510hp (517PS) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft).

‘Danke’ to Timo for the video tips!
