Following the presentation of the 2013 Renault Clio hatchback earlier this week, we received not one, not two but three separate design renderings in our mailbox, each attempting to imagine the next generation of the Clio RS.
The designs were made by ‘Cavalino’, Dan Buzdugan of PS-Garage and Khalil Bouguerra of Virtuel-Car, all of whom based their renderings on the prototypes captured by spy photographers over the previous months as well as the one that made a surprise appearance at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed just last weekend.
If you are wondering about the different positioning of the LED daytime running lights, that’s because in some of the prototypes, the units were housed on the corners of the bumper air vents while on others they weren’t visible, suggesting that they may be mounted up on the grille like on the regular Clio.
While Renault has officially teased the next Clio RS, it is also keeping its running gear a secret.
Nevertheless, our sources tell us that the new RenaultSport model will swap the current model’s 197hp (200PS) 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine for a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-pot with a similar if not an even higher output.
