Porsche recently teased the 2019 Macan and it appears the company is also working on a handful of other models for next year.
As discovered by Autoguide, VIN decoder guides submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration make mention of several new models including the 2019 Panamera GTS and Panamera Sport Turismo GTS. Little is known about the cars, but the last-generation Panamera GTS slotted between the Panamera S and Panamera Turbo.
The previous model used an upgraded version of the Panamera S’ engine so, if the same holds true, the upcoming Panamera GTS may use a more powerful twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6. There’s no word on outputs at this point, but the engine currently develops 440 hp (328 kW) and 405 lb-ft (548 Nm) of torque. This enables the five-door hatchback to run from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.2 seconds before topping out at 179 mph (288 km/h).
Besides the Panamera GTS, the VIN documents referenced a 718 Cayman T. It’s believed the model draws inspiration from the 911 Carrera T which was introduced in 2017.
If that’s the case, the model could feature a modestly revised exterior with Agate Grey mirrors, side stripes and a sports exhaust system. The car could also come equipped with lightweight windows and less sound deadening material. There could also be a Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system and a torque vectoring rear differential.
These changes sound minor, but the VIN document says the 718 Cayman T will weigh 3,649 lbs (1655 kg). This is 66 lbs (30 kg) less than the standard model.
Power will be provided by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-engine engine. This means the Cayman T is based on the entry-level model where the engine produces 300 hp (223 kW) and 280 lb-ft (304 Nm) of torque.
Lastly, the documents mentioned the 2019 911 Speedster. The model was recently previewed by a concept and Porsche hasn’t been shy about plans for a production variant.
