A trailer for the upcoming I Am Paul Walker documentary has been released and unsurprisingly, it pulls at the heartstrings.
Set to premiere on August 11 at 9:00 pm Eastern on the Paramount Network, I Am Paul Walker will document the beloved star’s Hollywood career as well as his life away from the glitz and glamour of show business.
This first look trailer previews interviews with Walker’s brothers, Cody and Caleb, as well as his sister Ashlie, who all make mention of the actor’s passions, including cars and nature. For those that didn’t know, Paul Walker was also a huge advocate for the conservation of the world’s oceans and a keen surfer.
Fast and Furious franchise director Rob Cohen makes mention of this during the trailer, recounting Walker often saying, “My daughter and my surfing. That’s what I care about.”
This isn’t one to miss.
As previously mentioned, I Am Paul Walker has been directed by Adrian Buitenhuis and produced by Derik Murray whose previous work includes I Am Dale Earnhardt, I Am Evel Knievel and I Am JFK Jr.
Beyond the interviews conducted with family members of Walker, many of his friends will also be featured in the documentary, including Fast and Furious co-star Tyrese Gibson.
Walker was tragically killed in late November 2013 when the red Porsche Carrera GT he was a passenger in crashed and burst into flames. Walker’s good friend Roger Rodas was behind the wheel and also killed.
Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker, settled her wrongful death lawsuit with Porsche in October 2017 for an undisclosed sum.
