The new 2013 Explorer Sport popped up on Ford’s official website today providing us with the base price of the performance model that starts at $40,720, not including an $825 (*) destination charge that puts the total to $41,545.
The most potent model of the Explorer series gets a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine, which Ford says, makes “at least 350-horsepower” and is estimated to return up to 16 mpg (14.7lt/100km) in city driving and 22 mpg (10.7lt/100km) on the highway.
That said, we are still waiting for the Blue Oval to release the final performance and fuel economy figures.
Other highlights of the Explorer Sport include a tweaked chassis and some bespoke styling cues like the 20-inch alloy wheels and the black trim accents on the exterior.
