While Aston Martin’s top brass were previewing the looks of the next DBS with the Project AM310 Concept on the scenic shores of Lake Como in Italy during the 2012 Concorso d’Eleganza, the brand’s engineers were hard at work conducting tests of the production model in and around the Nürburgring in Germany.

We have already established that the next DBS is more of what you would call a redesigned model than a new car, as aside from the similar looks, it will also retain the current vehicle’s VH aluminium architecture and 6.0-litre V12 with some minor upgrades.

Both the exterior and interior (re)design of the next DBS will be influenced by the One-77 supercar.

We still do not know for certain if Aston Martin will keep the DBS nameplate for the V12-powered model or as rumor has it, will gain a new name.

It won’t be long before we find out as the new British sports car is scheduled to be unveiled by the end of this summer.

In the meantime, head past the jump to watch a video of the next DBS prototype that was caught flexing its V12 engine in Nürburgring by Carscoop spies, as well as a second clip of an undisguised model snagged by Car Magazine in Britain.
