Lamborghini has released the first official teaser image of the hardcore Aventador SVJ prior to the car’s world premiere at Pebble Beach on August 23.

The Italian marque has been surprisingly open with the vehicle’s development in recent months, dropping comprehensive galleries and videos of prototypes testing in eye-catching orange, black, and white camouflage. This teaser provides us with the first taste of the vehicle’s exterior sans camouflage and it makes the supercar look even crazier.

The image offers a bird’s eye view of the Lamborghini badge and two air vents featured on the hood. These vents form part of the Aventador SVJ’s Lamborghini Active Aerodynamics technology and are surrounded by sharp lines and aggressive creases not visible on the camouflaged prototypes.

Making things look even more insane is the bright green paint scheme tipped to be the vehicle’s launch color.

As with all other Aventador variants, the SVJ will be outfitted with a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine. However, Lamborghini’s engineers will work their magic and lift power to 760 hp at 8500 rpm. The SVJ will continue to use the brand’s ISR single-clutch transmission and send power to all four wheels.

Initial reviews of the SVJ have been very positive with journalists saying that it turns in better than any Lamborghini before it, thanks largely to the high levels of downforce at the front end. This improved balance inevitably played a key role in the car setting a production car lap record around the Nurburgring.
