Since October last year, nine young apprentices from Volkswagen aged 18 to 24 have been working on a special Golf GTI project. Their cumulative efforts gave birth to the Golf GTI Black Dynamic Concept, which is making its world premiere at this week’s Wörthersee GTI meet in Austria.
Key styling changes include the matte grey hood with honeycomb decals that also appear on the car’s profile, new black rims, LED headlamps, and a black and red themed interior.
The car also features a 1,800 Watt sound system with nine loudspeakers, which takes up the entire boot space.
There are more upgrades to be found under the sheetmetal as VW’s apprentices modified the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine lifting output from 207hp (210PS) to 355hp (360PS), while also adding a new custom exhaust system and an eight-piston brake system with red calipers.
“This project illustrates how the thorough knowledge, commitment and creativity of our apprentices culminate in a fascinating show car that combines technical extravagance and everyday utility,” commented Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars Board of Management responsible for Development.
