The latest crop of revealing spy shots of the all-new 2014 Porsche Macan compact SUV have inspired photoshop artist Dan Buzdugan to create a rendering of what the actual production model could look like without the fake headlamps and light camouflage surrounding the prototype’s front end.

The new Macan is based on the next Audi Q5’s platform with the two models to share plenty of hardware between them such as the chassis components, steering system, axles, Ingolstadt’s quattro all-wheel drive system, and even the engine range and dual-clutch transmissions.

Porsche engineers will try to differentiate the Macan’s handling characteristics by fine-tuning the chassis and developing their own dynamic control systemw.

The engine lineup is likely to include turbocharged four-cylinder and V6 petrol and diesel units, depending of course on the market.

Porsche new compact-sized luxury SUV is scheduled to go into production in spring of 2013.
