Mercedes-Benz has offered the world a glimpse of its all-electric EQC, set to premiere in Stockholm, Sweden on September 4th.

The electric SUV has been in the works for three years and will be the first vehicle in the marque’s EQ range to reach showrooms.

The German manufacturer has been surprisingly open with the vehicle’s development in recent months, offering us a host of images and videos of prototypes testing around the world. This teaser video from Twitter offers a glimpse of the vehicle’s front fascia without any camouflage limiting the view.

The most intriguing design element of the EQC will be the LED daytime running lights that stretch around the outside edge of the headlights and are connected by a horizontal LED stripe directly above the front grille.

During a recent press release detailing the vehicle’s development, Mercedes-Benz revealed that it has been testing 90 prototypes and 30 pre-production prototypes, covering millions of kilometers of real-world testing on four different continents.

Mercedes has remained coy on the EQC’s specifications, but the Generation EQ concept, on which the EQC is based, arrived with a pair of electric motors delivering a combined 402 hp and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. Driving these motors was a 70 kWh lithium-ion battery pack offering a range of up to 310 miles (500 km).

Last, but definitely not least, Mercedes-Benz will enjoy a slight edge over Audi by unveiling the EQC almost two weeks earlier than the long-awaited Audi e-tron.
