If you ever have the opportunity to get a brand new car from a manufacturer that offers special color options, including custom choices, like Audi does with their RS6, then you should definitely look into it.
Granted, nowadays people just get their super rides wrapped whenever they feel like a change is needed, but nothing compares with the real deal. And as far as factory colors go, Riviera Blue, which is an Audi Exclusive product, is about as bright as they get, without feeling overly obtrusive.
This bright blue specimen was recently a resident of the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm, where it posed for the camera under direct sunlight, the effect of which is quite powerful, as you can see.
Then there are all the black exterior bits, like the front grille, vent surrounds, mirrors, dual-tone wheels and even the tinted windows. The color combo clearly works towards offering a very strong contrast between the black and the Riviera Blue.
Speaking of strong things, there’s some serious muscle hiding underneath this super-wagon’s hood, in the shape of a revised twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine (revised compared to the regular RS6 model’s), where an extra 45 PS (44 HP) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) of torque were added by fiddling with the engine management unit.
In total, the RS6 Performance puts down 605 PS (596 HP) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, for a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h (189 mph) courtesy of the Dynamics Package, which removes the 250 km/h (155 mph) electronic speed limiter.
And for those of you pondering what the same color looks on other four-ring models, here’s a bonus picture of an Audi Exclusive RS3 in Riviera Blue.
