Tailored Ferrari 812 Superfast Pays Homage To Iconic 250 SWB

A unique Ferrari 812 Superfast was delivered to its lucky owner, wearing a livery inspired by an iconic 250 SWB driven by Sir Stirling Moss.

The inspiration came from the blue and white Rob Walker 250 SWB Berlinetta Competizione, which won at Goodwood, Nassau, Brands Hatch and Silverstone during the early ‘60s with Sir Stirling sitting behind the wheel.

The front-engined V12 super GT is finished in a matte Blu Scozia Opaco with white highlights, including the stripe across the bonnet and the roundels on the doors, paying tribute to one of Ferrari’s most recognizable racing cars of all time.

Power comes from perhaps the greatest modern V12 engine, offering 800PS (789hp) at a screaming 8,500rpm. The redline sits even higher, at 8,900rpm. Paired to it is a dual-clutch transmission that provides even faster gear changes and shorter gearing.

Ferrari’s super GT deals with the 0-62mph (100km/h) in 2.9 seconds, while 0-124mph (200km/h) comes in 7.9 seconds. Top speed is 211 mph (340km/h).

The car was delivered by luxury dealer group H.R. Owen, which picked the heritage-inspired livery with the help of Ferrari’s ‘Tailor Made’ division.

“Ferrari has such an incredible history, both on the road and on the track, so we applaud this customer’s choice in evoking an iconic livery for his 812 Superfast,” said H.R. Owen CEO, Ken Choo. “It’s fitting that this design was first seen on a V12 berlinetta Ferrari in the early ‘60s and here – more than 55 years later – we see it on a car that can trace its V12 lineage right back to the 250 SWB and beyond.”
