Skoda continues the teasing campaign for its Kodiaq RS performance SUV with some new information and snippets of the model’s exterior. The first thing we learn from this new teaser is that the Kodiaq RS wears 20-inch Xtreme alloy wheels as standard.
That makes it the first Skoda in history to be equipped with rims so big from the factory. The alloys feature highlights in high-gloss black and are shod with 235/45 R20 rubber from Continental.
Thanks to the design of the alloys, the red brake calipers and 17-inch brake discs are clearly visible, providing a strong indication of the SUV’s sporty nature.
Black accents are everywhere on the exterior of the Kodiaq RS: the radiator grille, the roof rails, window frames and side mirrors all come in high-gloss black. Other striking details include the two wide tailpipes in with an aluminum finish and the reflector extending across the entire width of the car.
The Kodiaq RS also marks the debut of the new RS logo, placed on the radiator grille and the tailgate. While the “v” for victory is still in front of the well-known initials, it is now in red. Skoda says the new color symbolizes the sportiness and power of the RS family.
That’s all Skoda is willing to disclose for now about its upcoming Kodiaq RS, which will be the brand’s first model to adopt VW Group’s 2.0-liter BiTDI biturbo diesel engine rated at 240 PS (237 hp). All-wheel drive and adaptive suspension will be standard features as well.
Expect to hear more from Skoda about the Kodiaq RS as we get closer to the sporty SUV’s debut at the Paris Auto Show in early October.
